2. Login to the upload section by clicking here.  Enter "PhotoNews" for the Username and "Guest" for the password.  The login is case sensitive so enter it as shown in the first sentence.

3. Find this button near the upper right-hand side of the webpage find this button  and click it.

4.  A new window will appear.  Read the upload agreement (it is the same as the one in the section below).

5. Then click the Browse button to select the file you wish to upload.

6. Next, highlight the words in the text box that says, "Viewer File Que" by clicking on it.

7.  Scroll down to the upload button and click upload.  The file will then be uploaded to our system.  Transfer time depends on the quality of your internet connection and how many people are actively viewing the PhotoNews site.

8. Once the file has been uploaded, you will need to fill in the Modify File Info form that will appear in the upload window. Note, photos without the needed info uploaded to the system will be deleted.

Here is what should go into each text box:

Caption - This should tell the view about the photo. Try to explain who (if people are in the photo), what the subject is, where it was taken, and any other information that might be of interest to viewers. Please use complete sentences.

Keywords - If you want people to find your photos on the site, Use single words to describe your picture.  If it is a child hunting or Easter Eggs, you could use words like: eggs, grass, green, yellow, Easter Bunny, April, holiday, fun, children, exciting, Chicago, IL, family activity. Use a comma after each keyword or key phrase as in the example.

Copyright Notice - The name of the person who took the photo.

Byline (Photographer) - Your name and phone number with area code.  This information is not displayed on the website, but is needed so you or family/friends to find your pics with the site's search engine.  This is also needed so we may contact you if we need additional information about the photo. We will not post the image for the public side of the gallery to see if this info is not included.

When you are done click the button at the bottom of the upload window that says "Yes, Add File Info".

9. If you are satisfied with the file info, click the "Close" button. If you need to make changes click the "Modify File Info" button and repeat Step 8.

10. When your image is approved by our photo editor it will be moved to the Viewer Pix section found in the main gallery for the whole world wide web to see.

The PhotoNews has the right to edit and/or alter any submission. The PhotoNews reserves the right not to use the photos or video clips at all and/or to use as much or as little of them as we choose.

Children under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian's written permission to submit their videos/photos/audio and such permission must accompany the videos/photos/audio or they will not be considered.

By submitting your videos/photos/audio, for good and valuable consideration, the sufficiency and receipt of which you hereby acknowledge, you hereby grant to PhotoNews a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to edit, telecast, rerun, reproduce, use, syndicate, license, print, distribute and otherwise exploit the materials you submit, or any portion thereof, as incorporated in any of PhotoNews programming or the promotion thereof, in any manner and in any medium or forum, whether now known or hereafter devised, without making payment to you or any third party. You represent and warrant to PhotoNews that you have the full legal right, power and authority to grant to PhotoNews the license provided for herein, that you own or control the complete exhibition and other rights to the materials you submitted for the purposes contemplated in this license and that neither the materials nor the exercise of the rights granted herein shall infringe upon or violate the right of privacy or right of publicity of, or constitute a libel or slander against, or violate any common law or any other right of, any person or entity. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless PhotoNews, its parent and affiliated companies, its and their licensees, successors and assigns, and each of its and their officers, agents and employees from all liabilities or losses, including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to PhotoNews' exercise of the rights granted herein.

This license shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and is in effect upon uploading your image to our server.
