January 13, 2003 - St. Joseph, IL. - Spartans' Mark Gones (left) struggles to get a clean hold on Chargers' Ryan Gones. Gones later pinned his cousin Mark 1:17 into the first period. St. Joseph-Ogden wrestling squad went on to beat Champaign Centennial High School at home Tuesday night 46-22.
November 3, 2007 - Tolono, IL- Rocket senior Derek Graham (35) drags down Carterville ball carrier Ryan Mason (28) after a short gain. January 16, 2009 - Urbana, IL - Illineks' Rachel Skoza (left) and Jamie Blue head back to the bench together after Skoza scored her career 1,000th point Friday night against the Eagles. Urbana University High went on to defeat Deland-Weldon, 61-28.
March 13, 2010 - Peoria, IL - Sesser-Valier's Myles Tinsley and Salt Fork's Joe Pratt collide going after a rebound during their IHSA Class 1A state basketball tournament title game. The Storm won their first state title in school history with a 55-42 victory over the Red Devils.

September 27, 2008 - St. Joseph, IL - Judah Christian's Kenny Enright runs in this year's Spartan Classic Cross-Country meet. Bureau Valley won the meet with Urbana Uni-High finishing second. The host Spartans placed 3rd in the team standings at this year's meet.
March 30, 2006 - Champaign, IL - Parkland's Megan Riggs round second base on her way to home plate. Riggs hit a two run homer in game one against visiting Danville Area Community College. The Cobras beat the Jaguars 4-0, 13-5 Thursday afternoon in their home double-header.
July 4, 2009 - Urbana, IL - Nick Godsell of Philo, IL, runs in the 2009 Freedom 5K Run/Walk. Godsell finished the race in 11th place overall with a time of 17:30.2. 460 runners competed in the race where it rained start to finish Saturday afternoon.
May 3, 2005 - Champaign, IL - Scenes from this year musical production by Champaign Central High School's presentation of the Wizard of Oz. The play features over 50 students with stage rolls who will perform May 4th through the 7th.

April 23, 2005 - Tolono, IL - Rockets' Jesse Wassom waits for a pick-off shot from pitcher Dane Paul. Falcons' Pete Hornstein made it back to the bag in time. Tolono Unity could not heat up enough in winter-like conditions to hold off visiting Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley in their 22-9 loss Saturday morning. The meeting of the two teams was slated to be a twin bill but below 40's temperatures and strong winds out of the north, along with windchills dipping into the lower 30's, forced the game to a single-nine inning game.
August 21, 2010 - Mahomet, IL - Carrying fluids with him as he runs, Ryan Santens runs in the 2010 Mahomet Half Marathon. Santens finished in 16th place after crossing the finish line at 1:33:49. Proceeds from the race were donated to the Mahomet Area Youth Club.
August 14, 2010 - St. Joseph, IL - Suzanne Ford runs in the 2010 St. Joseph Community Festival 5K. Ford finished in 40th place after crossing the finish line at 23:01. Proceeds from the race were given to the town's junior high and high school cross country programs.
September 28, 2009 - St. Joseph, IL - St. Joseph-Ogden's Shelby Duitsman goes up for a block during game one against visiting Westville. The Spartans won the match winning both games 25-8 improving to 17-3 on the season. The team wore special uniforms and fans dressed in yellow in support of 4 year-old cancer survivor Will Page from St. Joseph.
August 1, 2009 - Champaign, IL - Kristin Hammel races to a 78th place finish at the 2009 Champaign Mini-Triathlon. The Champaign resident finished the race in 49:06.8. With registration limited to just 350 competitors, which as in past years filled up quickly for 2009, 302 triathletes finished this year's mini-tri.

August 9, 2008 - St. Joseph, IL - Jennifer Perrine runs to a 11th place finish in the Female 35-44 division at the St. Joseph 5K Run and Fun Walk. Proceeds from the race were donated to the St. Joseph-Ogden High School cross-country teams. Perrine finished the course at 42'09.02.
April 11, 2010 - Champaign, IL - While waiting for their pitcher to warm up, Parkland outfielders Danielle Abbott, Sam Inman and Deni Trone have a brief discussion in short centerfield during game two against Triton Junior College on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The Cobras shutout the visiting Trojans 8-0 in both games their non-conference doubleheader.
November 8, 2008 - Champaign, IL - Members of the Ice Cubes, a group students from the ice arena's Learn To Skate Program, perform a number together during the 2nd Annual Fall Exhibition at the University of Illinois Ice Arena. Performances by students in the Learn to Skate program as well as two U of I collegiate teams were presented Saturday afternoon at the campus facility.
Charger's Kris Wingo [17] and Maroon's Allen Kendall-Dick [18] battle agressively for the ball. The Maroon's hold off undefeated crosstown rival and Big 12 soccer powerhouse Champaign Centennial with the game ending in a 1-1 tie.
March 4, 2005 - Champaign, IL - Bob 'Papa Blues' Ross is caught on film dancing at Swing Central 2005. The annual music event, held at the Chancellor Hotel and Convention Center was an evening of big band music and dancing on two stages featuring bands from Edison Middle School, Champaign Central, and Champaign Centennial. The headline act for the evening was CU's Tons 'O' Fun Band, one of Ross' favorite area bands.
