August 5, 2005 - Today the NCAA announced a ban for teams that use Native-American nicknames and/or mascots from hosting post-season tournament games. The ruling could affect the University of Illinois' whose symbol is Chief Illiniwek. April 9, 2005 - Champaign, IL - Warriors' Nick Zahn [00] takes a shot on the Chargers' goal.  Waubonsee Valley High School beat Champaign Centennial 13-5.
November 22, 2005 - St. Joseph, IL - SJO's Billy Grider [bottom] tries to fight his way out of a pin attempt by Storm's Jordan Stone.  The Spartans won their season home opener againt visiting Salt Fork 61-9.  Stone finished match over Grider 14-9.
September 7, 2007  - Villa Grove, IL - Villa Grove lineman Austin Dobbs (77) watches RB Rob Renfrow (22) hit the hole created by the offensive line in a game between Villa Grove Blue Devils and the Ridgeview Mustangs September 7, 2007 at Russ Ghere Field in Villa Grove, Illinois.  The Blue Devils defeated the Mustangs 6 - 0.
May 13, 2005 - St. Joseph, IL - St. Joseph-Ogden High School senior Kaci Young leaves her final year of high school softball as the team's starting pitcher. Young is one of the area's leading softball strike-out artists. This 20x24 poster, commissioned by the player's parents, is to be presented for display during the Spartans' last home game of the season.

May 1, 2006 - Champaign, IL - David Orta, a sophomore in Sociology at the University of Illinois, claps during the speech of an immigration rights activist at Champaign's May Day rally. Over a million Hispanics nationwide showed collective support by boycotting work and schools today. In the twin city demonstration over 500 people gathered at the office of Tim Johnson, 15th District Congressional Representative. Johnson was not in his office.
October 3, 2005 - Champaign, IL - Not feeling the love between the Maroons and Chargers, head referee Bryan Lynch makes an obstruction call late in the game between Champaign Central and crosstown rival Centennial. Both team who are in the hunt for this year's conference title battled to heated, hard-fought 2-2 tie.
October 20, 2006 - St. Joseph, IL - JC Ducey is a senior and member of the St. Joseph-Ogden High School football team.  All season long the receiver has made incredible catches to help lead the Spartans to a perfect 9-0 conference record and earn their 16th consecutive playoff berth this fall.  This custom designed poster was presented on Senior Night before the start of SJO final regular season game against visiting Paxton-Buckley-Loda.   The Spartans beat the Panthers 49-14.

January 28, 2006 - Referee Grant Nohren [center] is joined by Jim Voyles, Chris Long, John Perkins and Steve Mitze for a photo before the second half of football between visiting Rushville-Industry at St. Joseph-Ogden.  The hardworking crew was lucky enough to work a beautiful October afternoon of prep football. March 2007 - Ashley Runck was a member of the St. Joseph-Ogden 2007 girls softballl team.  Runck, who was a member of the schoo's first Class A championship team in 2006, was presented this 20x24 poster commissioned by her parents as part of the senior recognition program at the team's last home game.  The senior will go on to play basketball at Parkland College this fall.
November 24, 2006 - Champaign, IL - St. Joseph-Ogden senior Mark Gones with the help of teammates hoist the Class 3A Runner-Up trophy after hard-fought 47-42 loss to Plano.  SJO finished their season just short of the perfect season at 13-1.
This photo is of St. Joseph-Ogden distance runner Hannah Hogan in action.  Hogan ran both cross country and track all four years in the Spartan uniform.  Her senior year she led SJO to at the IHSA State Cross Country Meet to an overall fourth-place finished in the Class 1A team standings.  Hogan finished the race with an new PR at 18:20, eight overall and sixth in the team race.
November 25, 2005 -  Champaign, IL - With his head buried in his hands, Rockets' Henry Deters experiences an emotional moment as fourth quarter seconds tick off the clock during the class 3A football title game held at the University of Illinois' Memorial Stadium.  Deters and Tolono Unity lost to Bureau Valley 34-7 in their bid for the school's first state football championship.
