| Kempo is a Japanese word, which literally means
Chinese Fist-Way or Chinese Fighting Method. Kempo or
Chuan-Fa in Chinese is a system of self-defense whose
origins can be traced back to the ancient Chinese Shaolin
Temple. Our style, Twin Dragon Kempo (TDK), is an
effective system of martial arts that emphasizes the
development and betterment of the student. TDK is
adaptable to the individual. Once the basics have been
mastered, TDK students are encourage to experiment, test,
and develop skills that are most suited to their body
type and structure. We consider students in TDK as family. Classes are taught in the traditional family format as opposed to the more common military style class structure. Our training approached is based on an open classroom where laughter is just as common as groans of effort. Make no mistake classes are grueling. But a joke or two always helps relieve the more uncomfortable moments. The result is students learn and retain more faster. Studying Kempo is more than just learning how to defend yourself or how to kick and punch. It is learning life skills that will be with you for ever. Sure you'll get into shape, sweat of a few pounds, and even eventually, with hard work, earn your black belt. What is more important are the benefits that you'll gain from your effort. Here are some of things you or your child will learn and gain after only a few short months of training. |
