November 10, 2018 - Normal, IL - Newark head coach Tonya Grayson acknowledges fans and parents after receiving her state medal during the Class 1A awards ceremony at the IHSA Volleyball State Finals on Saturday, November 10, 2018. The Grayson led the Lady Norsemen to this year's state championship title with a 25-16, 25-23 victory over the Stags of Hartsburg-Emden. The 2018 Newark championship squad was comprised of Cassidy Adams, Kenna Borton, Mattie Chapman, Taylor Christian, Alyssa Gittins, Lex Lohrey, Lexi Long, Madi Malone, Evelyn Martin, Olivia Nelson, Morgan Richards, Meggie Scott, Miraya Smith, Naomi Sweeney, and Megan Williams.

The Redwings knocked off Prairie Ridge in their consolation match 25-20, 25-23 to finish third in Class 4A. IC Catholic Prep finish third at state golf tournament

Members of the IC Catholic golf team celebrate with their third place trophy at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington, IL. The teams top 5 combined for 618 strokes in the Class 1A competition at the two-day tournament.

BLOOMINGTON - The IC Catholic boys golf team finished in third place at the 2021 IHSA Golf State Finals on October 9, 2021. In a very competitive championship round, the top three finishers were decided by a mere two points. Vandalia finished first with 616 points and North Shore Country Day in second with 617 points.

The Knights, led by junior Jann Atendido, finished with a two-day total of 151 strokes. Fellow junior Nick Zanoni filled in one stroke behind Atendido.

The Knight's top finisher at state, he shot one under par on his front nine and one over on the back nine holes to finish with a first day score at PAR.

Rowdy and fired-up Monticello Sages roll Carlinville
MONTICELLO -- Monticello's Jack Spence out-muscles Carlinville's Chase Michaelis on the line of scrimmage during their Class 3A semifinal playoff game on November 17, 2018. The Sages rolled to a 40-14 victory over the visiting Cavaliers to make their first IHSA state championship football game appearance in program history. Squaring off against Byron in 2017, Monticello lost 21-20 to Byron in their second-round playoff game. A year and two weeks later, the Sages won the 2018 state title upsetting Byron, 24-20.
